Blacksmiths gain access to Bellows from Below, Forge Armor, and Forge Weapons.
Blacksmiths are strong tanks who deal a lot of damage - albeit slowly. They deal more damage the less attack speed they have, and can be formidable fighters when left unchecked.
Recommended Strategy: Burn through the forest monsters and build up items before skirmishing. Blacksmiths have clear and telegraphed combos, needed to land their spells and follow up with attacks. It is often useful to choose Blink in order to ensure damage this way.
Recommended Items: Blacksmiths need one thing: Strength. They can benefit greatly from most rings, but the Thorn Ring and Ironhammer Ring work well with the Blacksmith's self-buffs.
Djinnis gain access to Elemental Surge, Djinni Warp, and their Elemental Focus.
Djinnis are highly versatile, and grant an enourmous amount of variability. When they spawn, Djinnis select an element, each granting additional effects to their abilities.
Recommended Strategy: Djinnis need time to build their strength. They are strong when they get their items, but can be punished early. Use their utility when you can to stay alive and farming the creeps.
Recommended Items: Djinnis work best when they are able to navigate the map and farm for their items. The Blessed Aural Ring is often a good choice, as it will allow the Djinni to benefit most from their utility and stats.
Engineers gain access to Transmute, Summon Minigob MK 1, and Field Bombs.
Engineers are strongest when they plan ahead, as much of their power comes from deadly traps and a powerful immobile summon. Because of this, they are strong at controlling the middle, and can still function properly in the forest due to the Transmute ability.
Recommended strategy: Transmute large monsters and invest in the Gold Mine for a quick economic start. Place traps and hope for unwary enemies.
Good items: Any ability score works with the engineer, though they get the most through intelligence. Blessed Aural Ring and Ironhammer Ring work well with the Engineer's strengths.
Fighters gain access to Thunder Slam and Empower.
Fighters are great skirmishers, and excel at killing monsters in the forest - and players on the battlefield.
Recommended Strategy: Use Empower to gain large amounts of attack damage and your healing through Empower + Thunder Slam to force foes out of the middle.
Recommended Items: Start with strength items and transition to agility later in the game. Fighters can use any ring fully.
Mages gain access to Force Wave, Shroud of Shock, and Blizzard.
Mages excel at killing armored foes, a trait unique to them, as Force Wave ignores armor.
Recommended Strategy: Control the middle by cycling through spells quickly and casting them while empowered. Kill monsters using Shroud of Shock early on, as it can be cast with 0 mana and always does damage.
Recommended Items: Intelligence is the Mage's core ability score. The Mage can use most rings, but the Blessed Aural Ring is a necessity. If ahead, purchase the Rusted Goblin's Ring.
Patrons gain access to Demon Deal, Death's Door, and Nether Cage.
Overview: Patrons are mixed characters who excel when they can attack their opponents. Their attacks always have enhanced effects due to Demon Deal, and they can stay on their targets with Nether Cage throughout a fight. Staying healthy either during a fight or after is simple with Death's Door - the Patron's self healing ability.
Itemization: The Patron relies on attacking quickly, yet also relies on being in melee combat. Lots of damage from abilities is based on intelligence. All stats can be useful for the Patron, however he will perform better with a variance of stats. As for rings, Blessed Aural Ring is effective for maintaning HP with Death's door, and rusted Goblin ring is effective as the Patron is adept at clearing out the jungle.
Rangers gain access to Forest Storm, Tracking, and Fighting Stance.
Rangers are expert duelists. Their innately high armor buffs allow them to tank hits while not building HP, as well as dish out high damage. Their Forest Storm ability allows them to easily keep track of invisible enemies.
Recommended Strategy: Rangers tend to start of slow, needing items in order to be effective. Keep out of harms way until you have items and some economy built up.
Recommended Items: Rangers rely on Agility and Armor for their damage. Ironhammer Ring is a core item for many rangers due to the armor stackign passive which works well with the Ranger's abilities.
Rogues gain access to Stealth, Backstab, and Coup De Grâce.
Rogues are expert assassins - as well as expert annoyances. They can kill anything quickly - but often die quickly as well. When attacking from behind they deal bonus damage, increasing each time they get another kill.
Recommended Strategy: Rogues benefit greatly from player kills - moreso than any other class. Find isolated targets while invisible and kill them when they are low from fighting monsters.
Recommended Items: Rogues benefit most from killing players, and they need Agility to do so. The Rusted Goblin Ring is often a good choice, as it will allow the Rogue to keep up in gold while not killing as many monsters.
Shamans summon lightning and spiritual totems to attack their enemies from afar.
Shamans are tactical manipulators. The longer a fight goes - the more they benefit from their passive healing.
Recommended Strategy: Shamans need intelligence for their lightning to work. Their passive healing will keep them alive early, and gives them an upper hand once they get their first items.
Recommended Items: Shamans rely on intelligence. They should focus on stat items and boots if they find it difficult to space their opponents.
